Working on Outer Heavens Right Now

I’m in the middle of finishing Outer Heavens, a film that’s been growing and shifting since the day we shot it. We made it fast — three days filming, on no budget — and somehow it’s turned into something bigger than we first imagined.

It’s a strange one: part ghost story, part love letter to the Irish midlands, part experiment in how little you can have and still make something cinematic. The film isn’t just set here — the bogs, fields, and quiet towns are basically characters in themselves.

Where I’m At

Right now, I’m deep in:

  • Sound — getting the whispers, hums, and silences to feel alive

  • Grading — finding that balance between the grit of the midlands and the dreamlike edges of the story

  • Editing rhythm — tightening the way memory, time, and reality fold into one another

  • Festival submissions — pulling together press kits, stills, and making sure the film gets in front of the right programmers

Why We Want It Seen

I think Outer Heavens has a real Irish soul. It’s handmade, it’s raw, but it’s honest. It’s about ghosts, yes — but really it’s about what lingers after people leave, about memory, about the kind of atmosphere you only get in small towns and back roads. We

want it to screen. In festivals, galleries, cinemas, anywhere that wants to give space to new independent voices.
